Dan Stacey was elected as County Commissioner for District 4 in 2012. He brought to the Board a desire to provide transparency and the belief that everyone should have the opportunity for a voice in county government.
District 4 Serves:
Cities of Akeley and Laporte
Townships of Guthrie, Hart Lake, Hendrickson, Lakeport, Mantrap, Steamboat River, and Thorpe
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice/psychology from Bemidji State University and is a retired law enforcement officer. He is currently employed by the Nevis Independent School District, #308 as the Transportation Supervisor. He enjoys being active in community events, he is a former Scoutmaster for Nevis Troop #56 and is currently on the Eagle Scout Council for Hubbard County and the surrounding area. His 'scouting' duties reflect his philosophy of the importance of youth to our communities, and his commitment to them. He possesses a working knowledge of housing, transportation, corrections, law enforcement, children's mental health and the solid waste services provided by the county. His extensive background provides him with many networking contacts.
Dan’s family includes his wife Tammey, son Jeff Stacey and his wife Maggie and their three daughters and one son, and his son Daniel. His family has been expanded recently to include his father-in-law. All are residents of Hubbard County.
As commissioner he is serving on the Hubbard In Prevention (HIP) Committee, Extension Committee, Northwestern Minnesota Juvenile Center Board, and the Toward Zero Death (TZD) Committee and is a member of the Laporte/Benedict Lions.
