This page addresses specifically what materials can be recycled in Hubbard County.  What can be recycled changes over time and depends on your location.  We encourage all residents and visitors to check this page every few months in case something has changed. 

What can be recycled?

  • Aluminum cans
  • Steel & tin cans
  • Glass
  • Magazines, newspapers, & phonebooks
  • Junk mail & office paper
  • Cardboard
  • #1 & #2 Plastic

The following items can not be recycled through the county: aluminum foil, foam trays, packaging, #3-7 plastics, and plastic bags.  

Where can I take my recycling?

You can take your recycling to any of the recycling sheds* or either of the transfer stations.  Any recycling generated outside of the county will not be accepted.  

*At the recycling sheds only the following items are accepted:

Plastic Bag Recycling
You can recycle your plastic bags to either Coborn's or Wal-Mart in Park Rapids inside the store.

The Park Rapids Lions Club has also partnered with Trex to recycle plastic bags within our community.  Drop off sites include:

  • St. Peter's Catholic Church
  • Calvary Lutheran Church
  • Riverside Methodist Church
  • Coldwell Banker Realty
  • Osage Community Center
