Solid Waste Updates - 2024 Assessment, Tipping Fees and Scale

  • 2024 Solid Waste Assessment:

The Hubbard County Commissioners have approved 2024 Hubbard County Solid Waste Assessment. The solid waste assessments will increase 5% over 2023.

  • 2024 Tipping Fees:

The Hubbard County Commissioners also approved 2024 Hubbard County Solid Waste Department tipping fees. The new 2024 fees schedule will be posted on the Solid Waste website and go into effect Monday January 1st, 2024. www.co.hubbard.mn.us/waste.  No adjustments were made to tipping fees for most items including MSW or demolition material.  There was an increase for tire disposal and the out of county permit fee.

As a reminder, all non-Hubbard County users are required to pay for disposal or purchase a yearly permit fee.  It is illegal for Becker, Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater and Wadena County residents to dispose of waste at Hubbard County transfer stations without purchasing annual permit or paying per load.

  • South Transfer Station Scale Update:

Starting Monday January 1st, 2024 -All non-residential loads (All contractors, businesses, organizations) coming through the South Transfer station are required to be weighed on the commercial scale.

This is for your waste being disposed of:

  • in the transfer station building (Bldg. A)
  • at the Tire Area
  • at the Concrete Area
  • at the Demolition landfill.

This procedural improvement creates more efficient service and solid waste assessment accuracy for businesses and organizations. Business and all other non-residential organizations have solid waste assessments based on the amount of waste generated that are delivered by a waste hauling service or dropped directly at our transfer stations.
