BUILDING PERMITS:
All property owners or
designee having charge of the erection, altering, moving, or
change of the exterior of any building or structure shall
apply for a building permit.
Application shall be made on
forms to be provided by the Environmental Services Office.
Each application shall be accompanied by a plan, drawn to
scale or dimension showing: the dimensions of the lot to be
built upon; and the size and location of the buildings and
accessory building. If not self constructed, the application
must also contain the name and MN State license number of
the contractor who will be doing the work.
SANITARY PERMITS:
A sanitary permit is required
for the installation, alteration, repair or extension of an
individual onsite sewage treatment system. This includes
residential and commercial systems, and also includes
privies(outhouses). A sanitary permit will not be issued
unless a site evaluation and design for the system has been
submitted by a licensed contractor and has been approved by
the Environmental Services Office.
SHORELAND ALTERATION
PERMITS:
Shoreland alteration permits
are required for the movement of any earthen material within
shoreland areas. Grading and filling and excavations
necessary for the construction of structures, sewage
treatment systems and driveways under validly issued
construction permits do not require the issuance of a
separate shoreland alteration permit.
ALL BUILDING,
SANITARY AND SHORELAND ALTERATION PERMITS SHALL EXPIRE ONE
YEAR FROM THE DATE OF ISSUANCE UNLESS A WRITTEN EXTENSION IS
GRANTED PRIOR TO THE DATE OF EXPIRATION!!!

CONDITIONAL USE PERMITS:
A conditional use permit can
only be issued if a conditional use appeal is applied for,
reviewed and approved by the Planning Commission, and then
approved by the Hubbard County Board of Commissioners. Once
approved, then a conditional use permit is required for
whatever use was granted.
