Part Time Deputy Sheriff

 

 

JOB TITLE:                                      Part Time Deputy Sheriff

 

DEPARTMENT:                              Hubbard County Sheriff’s Department

 

HOURS PER WEEK:                     Part time, variable shifts including weekends, holidays and nights.

 

SALARY RANGE:                           $21.9430 (step 1), no benefits

 

DUTIES:                                                          Secure the peace, uphold the law, and protect the health and welfare of the citizens of Hubbard County.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:      A two (2) year Criminal Justice Degree and must be eligible for P.O.S.T. certification and licensure.  Must pass psychological test and a physical.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good public relation skills necessary with computer experience preferred.  Must pass a criminal background check to include fingerprinting.

Dispatcher/Jailer - FULL TIME

 

JOB TITLE:                                      Dispatcher/Jailer

 

DEPARTMENT:                              Sheriff’s Office

 

HOURS PER WEEK:                     Full time –including nights, weekends and holidays

 

SALARY RANGE:                           10 step wage range w/expected start of $17.2501 progressing to 22.5075/hour, plus benefit package

 

DUTIES:                                            Take and dispatch calls for the Sheriff’s Office, Police Departments, Ambulances, Fire Departments, DNR, State Patrol, etc.  Answer 911 phone lines.  Operate radios, coordinate communications between officers or other departments, dispatch backup personnel and/or vehicles, maintain radio logs, initiate required reports, general typing and paperwork.  Complete computerized driving record, motor vehicle and warrant queries.  Jail duties include but are not limited to inmate intake and releases, searches, well-being checks, escort to court, jail programming, feeding of inmates, report prisoner admission and releases to the state and necessary jail reports.  Any other duties as assigned by the Sheriff or Jail Administrator.  Must be able to attend training and other courses, as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:      Must have two years post secondary education or equivalent work experience in a related field, be minimum of eighteen years of age and in good physical condition. Public relation skills are very important and computer skills required.  Must be able to work well in an emergency situation and under stress, possess a valid MN drivers license and pass a physical examination.  A thorough criminal background check will be completed on all applicants.  No felony convictions of record.
